A 3D combat racing game set in a modern apocalypse.

Apocalypse Motor Racers places you in an environment just after the Third World War where most of humanity is destroyed and the survivors are alone and abandoned in the world. The game has been around for a while, but has seen a short resurgence in popularity because of the positive reaction to the surprisingly good Mad Max Fury Road movie. This is a game that you can download and play for free, and it has a similar theme or two that line up with the ideas in the Mad Max movies.

Not A Bad Combat Racing Game

It is not an advanced game. The graphics and game physics are pretty basic, and the driving experience is fun, but has very little depth when compared with modern racing and combat fighting games.

Few Updates But Should Still Play On Your PC

The game hasn’t been updated since around 2012, but that is hardly surprising, since it is just a game people use to kill a bit of time. There is no online multiplayer function, or pay-per-play function, so it stands to reason that the developers would abandon it after a while. The game still works on most Windows computers that allow for backwards compatibility, at which point you can set your game environment to Windows 2003 or 98 in order to play the game.

Clever Lighting Hides All Sins

Drive a deadly race and destroy your competitors as you do. The graphics are above basic, but are the sort of thing you would expect to see in the late nineties. The clever use of lighting helps to hide many of the uglier sides of the game graphics.

You May Like The Game

The gameplay is not terrible. Shooting the other cars as you drive is fun, and it doesn’t take much before they explode and fly into the air. Collect ammo and weapons as you drive. To go forward in the story, you do not have to complete levels; you simply race and advance through the story. It can be tough catching up to the other cars if you are not a great driver, but your bullet can reach them fairly swiftly, so if you can’t drive, then shoot.

Race For Ranks And Dollars

At the end of each race, you get a rank and are shown how much money your race earned you. Even if you are last, you can still progress in the story and you still get money for your efforts.
